Today, Ms. Hale represents area developers and franchisees. Her prior experience representing franchisors makes her uniquely qualified to help franchisees. Ms. Hale assists clients who are interested in becoming franchisees. Among other things, she reviews and advises them on the terms of the Franchise Agreement and the franchise disclosure document. She also represents franchisees in disputes with the franchisors. While the franchise agreements typically protect the franchisor, Ms. Hale advises franchisees and develops strategies to ensure that the franchisors are complying with the terms of the franchise agreement. In some situations, she has been able to successfully resolve disputes between the franchisor and franchisee, allowing the franchisee to avoid the restrictive covenants in the franchise agreement.
